ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING 2024

Welcome, welcome, and greetings to everyone, to 2024 NZSG conference. We acknowledge the land that we host the programme on of Waikato-Tainui iwi and we acknowledge the kingitanga Tuheitia.

On behalf of the New Zealand Society of Gastroenterology, we welcome esteemed colleagues to Kirikiriroa Hamilton, the city of the future, for this year’s annual scientific meeting ‘Exploring new frontiers in gastroenterology and hepatology’. We are excited to launch a fantastic and stimulating scientific programme featuring many international and local speakers with world class expertise.

In an unprecedented collaboration, it is with great enthusiasm and anticipation that we welcome many of our speakers from Mayo Clinic, Rochester to join us in the mighty Waikato along with experts from Canada and Australia. This meeting serves as a nexus for clinicians, nurses, dieticians, researchers, and industry partners from around the globe to converge, share their expertise, and collectively advance our understanding of gastrointestinal and liver health.

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of the conference will be the social programme. There will be the doctors’ and nurses’ dinners and the premier social event – the conference dinner! This year, we are taking the party to H-Town with a classic Hoedown!

Together, let us embrace the spirit of exploration as we navigate the complexities of the digestive system and embark on a quest to discover innovative solutions that elevate knowledge and shape future patient care.
